Best interior design studios in Italy: an editorial selection
Six Italian practices, with named projects and the design work behind them.

A private home, a hotel and a wellness space call for different kinds of interior design. When exploring the best interior design studios in Italy, the useful distinctions lie in the work itself: the rooms a practice designs, the character it gives them and the scope it develops.
This selection introduces Italian studios through their stated focus and named projects. It is published by AD’ Design Studio. We present our own practice first; the other studios follow alphabetically. The sequence does not indicate rank.
How we selected the studios
We considered practices with an Italian base, identifiable interior projects and published information that explains their contribution. The profiles connect each studio’s project focus with specific work you can explore.
Italy describes the practices’ base. Their portfolios may include work elsewhere, so the examples below identify the project location and design role.
AD’ Design Studio
Project focus: private residences, hospitality and executive interiors worldwide.
AD’ develops complete interiors through spatial planning, materials, lighting, furniture and construction details. The appointment defines the drawings and specifications for each stage, and how AD’ coordinates with the appointed architects and specialists.
At Hotel Eden Spa in Rome, the commission covered the complete Spa interior from concept through handover. The private villa in Phnom Penh shows interior architecture, material design and bespoke furniture. Sikder Haus in Dhaka housed the group headquarters alongside two private apartments. AD’s appointment brought together interiors, bespoke development, engineering and importation across executive and private settings.
Clients can commission a complete interior or an agreed role alongside an existing team. Our family office for interiors approach gives private clients and their representatives a continuing design relationship, with the role agreed for each appointment.

Dimorestudio
Project focus: residences, retail and hospitality.
Dimorestudio is a Milan practice working in architecture and interior design. Its approach brings historical references, contemporary elements, art and decoration into the same interior.
The residential portfolio includes Milano Indipendenza and Eaton Square in London. These commissions provide references for clients interested in the relationship between architectural design, furnishings and decoration.
The studio’s interior commissions are distinct from the furniture and objects offered through Dimoremilano. When exploring its work for a home or hospitality project, start with the architecture and interior portfolio to see the practice’s approach to a complete setting.
Lissoni & Partners
Project focus: homes, hotels and resorts, workplaces, and public or commercial spaces.
Lissoni & Partners has a dedicated interior design department within a practice that also works in architecture, product design and visual communication. Its interiors work brings together layouts, materials and bespoke furnishings.
At Grand Park Hotel Rovinj in Croatia, the published credits identify Lissoni’s interior design and the building’s architecture by 3LHD. The case gives a specific example of interiors developed alongside another architectural practice.
For a client considering a multidisciplinary commission, the interiors portfolio is the place to examine the studio’s contribution to spaces, materials and furnishings.
Marcante–Testa
Project focus: architecture and interiors, with residential projects in the published portfolio.
Marcante–Testa explores the relationship between people, spaces and their cultural context. Its residential work uses colour, materials and architectural elements to give rooms an individual character.
The residential portfolio includes Citylife apartment and Cornici Architettoniche, both in Milan. These projects offer two references for clients exploring how colour and built elements can shape a home.
The practice is worth exploring for a residential brief in which the existing building, the way it will be inhabited and the character of its interiors need to be considered together.
Spagnulo & Partners
Project focus: luxury residential and hospitality interiors in Italy and abroad.
Spagnulo & Partners works across interior architecture, materials, bespoke elements and detailed project development. Its portfolio provides both private residential and hotel references.
The Navigli apartment in Milan offers a residential example. At Villa Gallici in Aix-en-Provence, the published project describes a Spa and private wine room within the hotel’s expansion.
These cases offer a way to explore the practice for a private residence or hospitality appointment, while reading the design contribution at the scale of the particular intervention.
Studio Urquiola
Project focus: hotels, residences, retail and exhibitions, alongside product design.
Studio Urquiola works across architecture, product design and related creative disciplines. Its approach places material research and the experience of a space within the design process.
Room Mate Giulia in Milan provides a hospitality reference in the studio’s architecture portfolio. The hotel interiors are a starting point for exploring how its material and spatial research enters a commissioned interior.
For a hospitality or residential brief, examine the architecture portfolio alongside the studio profile. Together they show the relationship between its interior work and its wider design practice.
